Aaron inherited his first fly rod at age nine and never looked back. At age 18, Aaron’s first guide job took him to Alaska, where he spent two summers with Bristol Bay Lodge. He then went on to guide at Reel Wilderness Adventures in Alaska’s Wood Tikchik State Park for 8 years, 5 of those seasons as the head guide. Aaron has fished across the globe, from BC to New Zealand and other places in between. It was six months in NZ, hunting kiwi browns, that taught him about precision, persistence, and patience; but most of all he realized he wanted to devote the rest of his life to fly fishing. Upon returning home to Washington in 2007, Aaron started his guide service, Angler’s Obsession. Aaron now focuses on Olympic Peninsula Steelhead January through March; Tarpon, Bonefish, and other flats species in South Florida mid-April through July; then summer steelhead and fall chinook on the Klickitat August through November.

Ravae has been part of Angler’s Obsession since the beginning. She spent 5 summers in Alaska with Aaron as lodge staff at Bristol Bay Lodge and camp manager at Reel Wilderness Adventures. Ravae was somewhat dragged into the fly fishing lifestyle, traveling to destination fisheries such as New Zealand for a 6 month stint and honeymooning in Belize for two weeks, not to mention traveling to the fly fishing shows around the country. Ravae keeps the business running by maintaining great communication with clients and doing all the behind the scenes work. Ravae is truly and asset that makes Angler’s Obsession successful.
